How much do Google ads or PPC ads cost?

The average cost-per-click (CPC) in Google Ads is between €1 and €2 on the search network. The average CPC on the Display Network is usually under €1 per click. However, costs can change daily depending on the amount of competition for a particular keyword.

The most expensive keywords in Google Ads and Bing Ads can cost €50 or more per click (That’s just for one click!). Usually industries like legal, insurance, loans and mortgages command these high costs-per-click or CPC.

The main benefit to Google advertising (Adwords) is that you are serving your ad at the exact time a person is searching for your product or service type and you only get charged if the person clicks on your ad. Sounds good right?

The highest cost per click (CPC) on Google Adwords is €50+ usually for industries such as banking, loans and insurance.

Put this into context, a bank pays €50 for a person to click on their ad which results in a €20,000 loan, not to bad when you break it down. Although at €50 per click most smaller or medium-sized businesses couldn’t afford that or have the margin available to make it pay (50 clicks x €50 = €2,500 + agency fee). Not every click will result in a sale!
